    it's not worth buying a very expensive (yet very good) 3ccd camera and trash it due to moisture or fuck it up due to vibrations from skiing/crashing you know that if there is a jump/rail or cliff to hit you'll do it, with or without a camera in your backpack

    go and by the cheapest mini dv-cam you can find (but make sure you can screw lenses on them), buy some big spare batteries (cold just eats battery) and finally get a fish-eye lens for mad follow shots and a stand for filming from one spot that should keep you happy for quitte a while
