The 08's have a new topsheet, a faster base and they're lighter. Other than that there isn't much difference between them and the 06's.

The Rory's are actually quite stiff. My friend has a pair mounted 2cm back from center and the tips dive like a submarine. I would get something else for a pow/jib ski.
