    Volkl Wall mounting point

That is what I thought. Why do they have a "boot center" mark lower than the true centre if they made the ski symmetrical? I am so confused...

    Volkl Wall mounting point

I just bought the Wall online and notice that, like many modern skis, it has a "boot centre" and a "true centre" indication for mounting on the ski. I thought that the ski was symmetric and boot and true center werer one and the same? Where am I supposed to mount these? Thanks

    Chris turpin

I think Turpin doesn't like to call them "Kangaroo Flips" because he is, like many who live in Whistler, a bit anti-Australian. I heard him say something about not wanting to name something in skiing after a JAFA animal. If you don't know what a JAFA is, ask someone from Whistler.

Guess how much candide makes a year...

I don't know exactly how much these guys get paid but I can tell you that the Europeans like Candide generally make a lot more because skiing is more mainstream in Europe and, as such, can attract broad, non-ski, sponsors. Advertising for, Coca Cola is worth so much more than getting paid to...

Team america vs team canada and france and scandinavia

Scandies have great big mountain rippers. Have you ever heard of the Swedish Posse? Kaj Zackrisson, Sverre Liliequist, Jon Örarbäck, Andreas Håtveit, Magnus Tveitå etc. It depends what you mean by big mountain. Big mountain that focusses on mini-golf lines and newschool tricks or ripping...

    Tramoline newb question

Hahahha, this site does make me feel old. I wouldn't say I am "kicking it" just wanna improve, like you said. I am mostly a big mountain skier and do a couple of heli trips a year (in fact I am off to greenland in a week) but I like to fool around in the park on the off days. All I can do are...

    Tramoline newb question

hahaha, I should also say I am 31, over 6' tall and a former pro kickboxer, so I may be heavy but not that fat (although age and a desk job is catching up). I know skis kill the bounce, but I have seen small skis and snowboards used on tramps for grabs. I still don't know if a regular tramp...

    Tramoline newb question

I know the olympic ones are best but I am wondering if I can do basic inverts and grab practice without going all out and buying one. I would rather get by on a smaller one, both for cost and storage (it will be at a mountain house and have to be stored in winter...)

    Tramoline newb question

I just bought a house with a big enough yard to put in a trampoline. I want it for trying to learn inverts and might even put de-edged skis on it to practice grabs. I also need one that can at least take me, and I am 200lbs. I was thinking about 3m by 2m. Do I need a bigger one? Is a...

Hey mogul and big mountain skiers.

That 90 degree thing is a throwback to when skis were straight and stances higher. An aggressive modern stance want a shorter pole, it helps to stay over the ski when you are in the steeps. one size smaller than 90% for big mountain. You only want longer poles when hiking. If you are touring...

Summer camps...If you are over 21

I am a solid skier was/am a NS beginner. I slid my first rail at HN 2 years ago, and went to learn grabs and spins. Sure some of the kids can throw stupid big tricks but watchin and learing from it is half the fun. I wouldn't say it is intimidating, just got to keep in mind that they may be...

Summer camps...If you are over 21

I was at high north session 1 and 2 last year and I am 30. It was fine. There were all ages in both camps and the coaches/diggers are all old enough to drink with. Actually, even being 30, hanging out with the kids was fun. I wouldn't worry about an adult camp.

    Anthems available outside the US

For anyone that cares, I was just out shopping in the "ski shopping district" in tokyo and lots of shops were stocked with the Line Anthems. It is probably expensive to try and order these skis from Japan but it suggests that Kiss's lawsuit may only apply to the US and, if you are desperate to...
