Laid back Pipe Comp at Blue

time to give blue props. i was just up in vt over the weekend at stratton, killy, and okemo. blue's pipe is not as big (14 feet i think) but its cut as well if not better than what i rode in vermont, and its much less icy, making a lot more rideable. good job blue.

    Big Boulder

thanks. i'm not trying to be a dick about it, but being that i've skied there for the past 20 years, i have a pretty good idea of how things usually work up there. sidewinder is not a good trail for a park, plain and simple. they usually dont blow good snow for park crew to work with, and park...

    Big Boulder

hahahhahahahahhahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhahahahahha. you think blue's park is even going to compare to boulder's? you're joking, right? i live 10 minutes from blue, and i've skied there for 20 years. until they get a winch cat, blow better snow, and realize things need to be built in...

    Does such a ski exist?

everyone is suggesting wide skis. from what it sounds like, you're skiing a lot of hardpack and groomers, with someone who likes to rip turns. you also like to ski bumps. wide skis inherently do not ski well in the bumps. my seths are manageable in the bumps, but they're nowhere near as good as...

    Whistler vs tremblant

    that's a silly question. whistler.

K2 public enemy vs. 4frnt tnk

and i bet you've skied everything k2 makes, right? for what you're doing, the tnk might be the better choice, but its really preference. as said before, the PE is good for everything, but doesnt really excel at anything except being stupidly durable. if you're considering a k2 ski for the park...

Bulletproof Park Skis? AR6 durability question.

k2 stuff is bomber. i've ridden my silences down many a concrete staircase and they're still in better shape than most people's everyday park skis. my fujatives have seen almost a year's worth of on snow riding and besides a few chunks taken out of the top sheet from some bad bails, they're in...

    Firewire Help....wont work????

sorry if this comes off as dickish but... is the camera turned to the 'vcr' setting? if its on the 'camera' or 'record' mode, a lot of times the computer won't recognize it. try that.

WTB: canon GL2 for under 700

just because i'm feeling bitter because i'm stuck at work and not skiing right now... we found a gl2 with extra tapes, super long life battery, uv filter, and some other random accessories for 675 with not a scratch on the thing. all it needs is to have the heads cleaned, other than that it's...

    Hip hop will die?

actually, its called hip hop is dead. and that whole album except for maybe one or two tracks is on point. hip hop is not dead. if you've been to a good show lately, you'd know that hip hop is certainly not dead. its influence on skiing may be slowing, which is fine, since basically nothing at...

    Proactive

like not being able to drink while on medication. acne meds + alcohol = lots of blood, even from a tiny cut. i guess it does something to thin your blood or reduce the number of clotting agents in your blood.

    Salomon Ghost Boot 08-09

they're in the running when i get new boots. i'm in rampages right now and like the flex and fit for the most part, the liners are just falling apart on me after a full season of riding in them. i'm hoping i can get my feet into some il moros though.

2007 trouble makers - please reply and read

2008 nothin but trouble is the 2007 trouble maker. the new trouble maker is 3mm wider throughout with better edge and binding reinforcement and no more metal plates on the tip and tale, so swing weight is a little better even though its a bigger ski overall. oh, they ski amazingly too.

Line Invaders vs. Volkl Walls vs. Surface Watch Lifes

invaders. they fit your criteria. all mountain for you is northeast all mountain, so you're not getting pow every day with the opportunity to hit cliffs and pillows etc. the majority of your all mountain skiing will be groomers and trees, right? in which case, invaders work well. i dont know...

    Firewire Help....wont work????

in all honesty.... screw vegas. use windows movie maker to import. its super easy to set up the import, and if your camera doesnt show up in there either, then you can start troubleshooting the issue. i could never import with vegas on my computer either, but i hated vegas in general. now i use...

good deal. i'll try and bounce out of work a bit early if i can. kevin told me about the saturday thing when he talked to tom almost a week ago, so it might just be old information.

    reps

that is exactly why most shops wont let you form gear right away, and why its getting harder for everyone to get a hold of forms. i've worked at a shop for 7 years and each year, they make you jump through more hoops to get gear.

Line Invaders vs. Volkl Walls vs. Surface Watch Lifes

i would go for invaders. medium waist, quick turning radius (16m in the 178) and they actually are really fun to ski on groomers because of the short turning radius. obviously they arent great in pow, but true twins inherently are not, since the wide tails makes them want to ride flat instead of...

    Salomon Ghost Boot 08-09

if this boot was the same flex as the gun boot, i would absolutely be on board, but a 2 buckle freeride boot with a flex bordering on lower end race boots? my shins say no thank you.
