if you're willing to use a roller....marine grade topside paint for boats is nearly invincible with the proper prep of sanding.......and it's shiny on its own, no need for clear coat..........tho it'll be hard to find unless you have a marine hardware store in the area

you plan on doing it yourself? bad idea man, unless you have the guide plates to do that, otherwise no matter how hard you try they'll never be centered width-wise on the skis, and thats just not good, unnessisary stress and wobble

do the repairs on your own, and repair shop ppl ALWAYS have to set your dins low cuz in this stupid country you could sue him if it was too high take care of teh stuff for yourself, some 5 dollar p-tex and a good scraper should fix your bases right up
