    Trick names?

I was curious where a lot of the trick names we use come from, obviously things like front/blind and spin rotations are logical and a lot tricks came from other extreme sports, but where did words like k-fed, pretzel, etc. come from? What is the reasoning behind giving them some of these names?

    Grabs

It's been a while since I've seen a thread with all the grabs listed, I did a search and the last thing I found was from '08 and skiing has definitely changed since. These are the grabs that I am aware of, not sure what I am missing, feel free to fill in the blanks (some are just variations of...

First New England mountain to open?

What mountain in New England do you think will be the first to open this year? Last year I believe it was Killington (I could be wrong). My guess is that it will either be Killington again or Sugarloaf

    Flips onto rails/boxs?

I'm going out to breck this winter and am already planning things I want to try when I am out there... how hard is it to flip onto a rail or box? I was thinking disaster flat 4 onto a flat down box. I'm not too worried about getting the flip around, I am more concerned about how you keep you...

    Best College Pass?

So I have been trying to find the best college pass that would allow me to ski the most. My school's ski club goes to Killington, Okemo, Pico, and Sunapee...but when I'm on break from school I ski at Crotched mountain almost everyday and take quite a few trips to Mt. Snow throughout the season...

    Never Forget Liz Daley

As we pay our respects to both JP Auclair and Andreas Fransson, we must not forget that our community lost Liz Daley to an avalanche in South America as well. These mountains can be unforgiving and dangerous, it is something that gives many of us the rush we have learned to love; the danger, the...

    Late 180 flips?

I've been seeing these in a lot more edits but basically the skier will throw either a front flip or backflip and once they get upside down it seems like they rotate there shoulders to put them into a sort of late 180. I know on trampolines people call front flips with a late 180 "brandys" any...

I've noticed in a lot of good edits, the sound of the landing or rail sliding will be amplified without the annoying sound of cross wind, any tips on how to do this?

Problems with new video layout and ads

Anytime I get to the end of an ad with the new video layout it just gets stuck at 0:30/0:30 and doesn't load the video. This has only been happening after implementing the new video layout. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Weirdest things to happen while skiing?

Went to hit a summer setup today and two things happened that I had never seen before, they weren't tricks but looked so sick. First my friend went to blind swap a rail and one of his skis popped off, he ended up riding out the rest of the rail switch 50-50 with just one ski and his boot before...

    Sickest Trains

Sorry if this doesn't embed I suck at it: But in all honesty this is probably one of the sickest train videos of all time and it came out in 2007. Trains aren't something I see too often but if they are done right they can look sick. Any other noteworthy videos of trains?

    Collegiate level freestyle skiing

So I know that there a few universities out west that have official freestyle ski teams. Anybody know what this is like? I go to school in New England and the closest thing to it is the ski club which involves no training/practice or competitions; it's just go to the mountain and ski (which...
