yes the spk's are super soft. and seeing as the skis a little stiffer, it would make it harder to butter, or arc the ski. but thats just my assumption. i wouldnt want to ski a stiff ski on the spk's tho

i get one regardless so it doesn't really matter to me, they're now bad just kinda goofey looking
