Digital will be easier to learn. Give us some information, what you want to shoot, your budget ect. You could buy a point and shoot for $200, or you could spend $8000 for a SLR. It all depends on your needs.

K2 makes skis with rivits that look like bullet casings, stars and studs. They're still rivets.

Don't use pop rivets, that will look ugly. Use double sided rivets, similar to what K2 uses.

The 179 Vicious is my only pair of skis. I use them for park, groomers, trees, everything. And I love them. If you want a very versatile ski, seriously consider the Vicious. Also if you're over 6' I would suggest the 189 and mount them forward (+5 or so) and they should be fine in trees.
