I really like the karmas for all mountain. I use them in the park too, but I think they really perform well outside. It's not insanely wide if thats what your looking for, but Volkl does have a decent lineup of park/pow skis if you wanna check them out.

Yes, get a dorm. If you're going to be a freshy, dorms are wicked fun. you meet tons of people and have a shitload of fun. And for the most part, no ones cares what you do anyways as long as you're smart about it and aren't to obvious.
