If you told your ski shop your sole length, hight, and weight and ski level 2 and they set them at 8, they are supposed to be set at 8. Nothing is stopping you from lowering them to 7.5 or 7. But your risking when you need your skis to stay on and they fly off your gonna bail. It's a fine balance.

Your shop will set them accordingly. If your an aggressive skier and at your size 8 sounds about right. Im 6ft 160 and i ride at 8... shops usually set it at about 7.
