to each his own, but i just couldn't use an hv20. Its deffinatly a dope camera, 24p, native widescreen, and hdv. i wanted itr for a while but it seems to difficult to use like with no focus ring, a fixed viewfinder and other little things. But it deffinatly seems sick and you will probably get...

well, mini dv IS digital. first off go with miniDV. some options you should research for your price range are the gs500/400., gl1, trv900, trv950, probably some more. google those and see what suits your needs
