Newschoolers Quick Review:
The ARV 106 has been one of my favorites since it dropped a couple of years back and the new version is even better. When I'm not sure what conditions the trip I'm going on is going to throw at me (and I don't have something else I have to review). Perhaps the old ski was a touch (though this is not a major point) easier to ski, but the new one is unquestionably performs better in almost all aspects. The slightly stiffer flex does make playing around buttering and jibbing a touch more work than the previous model but these are still a very playful ski. The new, fatter edges make them a realistic fat park ski option now too. One of my favorite skis of the year for sure. -Twig
Manufacturer's Description
Our most versatile all-mountain freestyle ski gets a completely new construction for 18/19, bringing an ultra-playful and responsive yet stable ride to high performance skiers tired of tossing sticks in the trash every half season. Reinforced with new sidewall construction to absorb high speed chatter and any rail, wall, or concrete you can press them on, the Armada ARV 106 also features ash stringers for increased pop and play. Introducing a new shape akin to the JJ 2.0 of winters past, the new ARV 106 is as at home surfing the white wave as it is thrashing the pro park.
