Great thinkpiece, really enjoyed it. Food for thought for any resort skier: "You get after it day after day, you think of yourself as core, you think of yourself as soulful, and yet you drop a grand or more for a season pass or a hunski for a day ticket for the right to get on an escalator and allow a corporation do the hard work for you. Ouch."

^ Agreed, remember that video from Henrik when he when to his local resort for the first snow and hiked it twice because he had such a fun time on his first run down? Each side has it's benefits and I think it's easy to find the soul of skiing when you look at those of us who not only love it, but crave it. It's what that image is showing. Those of us who are willing to stick with skiing for our whole lives no matter what and it is definitely a good image to remember when you feel lost or disconnected from it.
