The yellow jackets have struck again, this time pulling Ahmet’s pass during some downtime laps at Breckenridge Mountain Resort. According to the email Ahmet posted, the citation was for jumping and in order to have his pass reactivated, he will have to attend a ‘Slope Safety Class’ in either Keystone or Breckenridge. While Ahmet is not competing at Breckenridge's Dew Tour this year, he is part of the Team Challenge as Volkl’s team captain.

Vail likes to boast about their ‘Award-Winning Mountain Safety Program’ that aims at “Educating, enforcing, monitoring, and providing positive reinforcement of ‘Your Responsibility Code’ and the Colorado Ski Safety Act.” Unfortunately, actual skiers have found that this translates to a police state-like ban on speed, jumps and overall fun. There’s been quite a trail of horror stories from encounters with said mountain safety. If any lesson can be taken away, it’s that skiers need to just smile and wave at the yellow jackets while passing by. Or at least seem incredibly apologetic if caught, or just stop having fun, either way.

Luckily, Ahmet has mostly been skiing over at Copper, where he doesn't have to worry about the yellow jackets (but let us know how the Slope Safety Class goes!).
