Route: South Ridge, The Cairnwell

Aspect: South

Vertical Drop: ?

Lil

punk and i went for a very short ski tour to the south ridge of the cairnwell today. There

isn't really a lot of snow about for any great touring, but the

conditions have inproved a lot since the 6th january. Where still

needing a lot more snow to fill in the CNS and other lines we have been

looking at. Any way, skiing the south ridge down to

the road is kind of boring so, i'm not going to write about that.

The

weather in the morning started of with blue sky's, with some high

clouds. By about 12.00pm the light got flat, with low cloud and

light snow showers.

In the afternoon we done about 2 hours of

beacon pratice on C.A and also tried to dig a snow hole in a drift. But

it never worked out in the end.
