Driving into the car
park at 10.35am and seeing there was still no big improvement from saturday, my
touring options were going to be very limited to meal odhar agene. The weather
was not that great. 20 to 25 mph winds, light snow, flat light. The temperature
at car park level (649 meters) read +1, a bit milder than saturday was. But it did
feel a lot closer to -3 in the wind.
There was a wee bit
of fresh and wind deposited snow, on a icy layer from saturday 6th january.
So, it made skinning a lot easier this time round. From the top off sunnyside i
skinned across to beag and past the M.O.C to the base of meal odhar. From the
base of M.O, i skinned up the path on the left. About hafe way up M.O, i started
to notice some small shooting cracks under my skis. I was not overly concerned
by this, because i was on low angle terrain and the snow what was getting deposited
was very little.
I ended up skiing the
same line as saturday. There was still the big icy patch on the last section,
with some wind slab at the bottom.
I don’t have any
thing else to write about, what is interesting or i could rabble on about,
nearly missing the bus, getting stuck in bridge of cally for 2 hours, getting a
lift from my favourite ski patrol. I don`t think you would want to read that,
would you?
