FIS SUCKS!

Just wanted to put that statement out there first.

As a longtime supporter of the Canadian Freestyle Ski Association I was absolutely puzzled and utterly disappointed with there decisions to not support the bid for the 2010 games. What I was unaware of was that there was no national team status funding for the athletes even thought half pipe, & big air evens are common place at Nor-am's, Interporvincals, The Winter Canada Games, and even World Cup Events! For this I'm absolutely flabbergasted. For months now I have wanted to write Peter Judge a personal letter wondering why the ball was dropped (In my opinion) on getting Half-pipe skiing into the 2010 Olympic games. The lack of information having only brief articles and heresy prevented me from creating anything substantial that I felt I could submit. The CFSA's actions of making this a non issue, resembles to me of what it's like when your dog makes a mess on a carpet, they know it's there, they know what they did was wrong, but they avoid it, and go hide in the corner hoping that no attention will be drawn to it. For shame, Bad dog!

The 2010 Games are in Canada for godsakes, and the support of the CSFA would have been HUGE.

This article was amazing. I had difficultly trying to read the whole article before posting any comments. I agree full heatedly with the opinions expressed in this article. I'll even admit to being in the dark about the "Unofficial" Canadian halfpipe team. I'll praise Trennon Paynter and his team for all the hard work they've been doing, You should all have A-Card status in my books! Hang in there you are all pioneers of the sport. I find it embarrassing that it has taken this long for everything (namely some) organizations to get on board, especially when they PLAN ON IMPLEMENTING SKIER 1/2 Pipe in the 2014 games???!!! It just doesn't make any sense. As well, I couldn't agree more about the comments made about skiercross.

Hopefully with more attention raised something positive can come out of this, because the reality is that the clock is ticking on this issue, and some of the current athletes will continue to age, having to wait until 2014. Six years may rob some of the athletes of there opportunity to compete for Canada in an Olympic venue (In what could have been in Canada even) in an event where they would have surely been contenders for the gold.

Shout outs to Tanner Hall & Dumont to go shut things down at a FIS EVENT and clean things out.

If you would like to contact anyone at The Canadian Freestyle Ski Association the contact information for all the major staffers are at this link. http://www.freestyleski.com/en/about/staff.htm

I will be sending out letters by the end of the week.

-Craig Faller

Anybody else here don't understand why pipe skiing is so popular? I mean, its fun to ski a halfpipe. The weightlessness feeling is amazing and its fun to do grabs and some easy spins. But honestly, compared to the rest of skiing, it is such a small activity. There is an entire rest of the mountain open. the pipe is so limiting and honestly boring. I'd rather watch a railjam, or slopestyle, or big mountain comp, or naything more than pipe skiing. Really, it is just a copy of what snowboarders do and is a terrible representation of the sport.

overall the winter olympics are so far behind in captivating what is actually happening in skiing now, it's been ten year since Johnny Mosely won gold in Nagano and look at where skiing has gone since (snowboarding too). They brought in snowboarding halfpipe in 02 which was great., but now sking has progressed to levels above snowboarding yet no recognization for it to the olympic commitee. I say that there should be a halfpipe comp in whistler during the olympics anyway, just to show whats up. that would be dope
