It sounds like AFP is growing and getting better but I want to know how AFP is choosing it's judges for top ranked events, not how it's choosing its competitors... I think Steele is a great guy for the job but if he's judging all the Platinum and most Gold events, doesn't that seem like a conflict of interest? I know this is the ski industry and it's small, but come one, we're trying to be a real industry and in real business you need to be a bit more ethical than what's currently going on in the ski industry. AFP needs to release more info than they currently are, like judging criteria. There needs to be legal documents explaining how these "ranked" athletes are winning competitions and earning their living. If this is a business it should be run like a business, not like a ski video. I compete and I love this sport, lifestyle, whatever you want to call it and there is a wealth of knowledge out there regarding results and placings, but where's the info regarding how to get those results? Where in the world is there anything regarding ski judging at all? Would it be too weird to read an article on NS regarding a recent event and not only have the athletes and their scores, but the judges who judged that event?..

I'm not trying to tear anything down, I'm trying to get justice for all, and not just a few.

more Info would be good!

so there are going to be two world championships this year. one by the FIS, where every country can send their best athletes for the halfpipe or slopestyle (Park City) and then this AFP one, where only the Riders with the most Points can go to, because they earned them at invitational events or mostly north american events.

I think for world championships the FIS system is way better at the moment. And the TTR is on another level than the AFP, you can not compare those, maybe in a year. Just look at the event Calendar..

(sorry for my not so good english)

completely true HEAD. I couldn't agree more. AFP is making progress but skiing is soo far behind snowboarding business wise it's not even funny. AFP is what it is, but they are just a ranking system, not the actuall events themselves.

Where is the youth of skiing also? There are some kids that are killing it, but only because they have the money to go to Windells and the Woodwards of the world. What about USASA? That is becoming the grass roots of skiing and building the future and bulk of the market. Why aren't those comps ranked? They have a Nationals and it's a HUGE deal. So big that they separated skiing from snowboarding and gave it it's own Nationals... Let's widen the spectrum
