The Newschoolers Ski Test returned to Sunshine Village last week, for the third year on the bounce. Much of our crew of local testers now have at least one of those years under their belts and that made for our best test to date. The skiing was more polished and the feedback was more valuable than ever before.
Over the week we took out fresh whips from a dope selection of brands from all corners of skiing; [tag=40642]@Faction[/tag] , [tag=89101]@DYNASTAR_LANGE[/tag] , Volkl, [tag=4778]@Fischer[/tag] , [tag=62304]@headskis[/tag] , [tag=267217]@GilsonSkis[/tag] , @Salomon, [tag=30985]@Line_Skis[/tag] , [tag=275298]@season_eqpt[/tag] , [tag=103004]@Atomic[/tag] , [tag=204130]@Elan_Team[/tag] , [tag=103006]@Nordica[/tag] and [tag=115644]@RossignolSkis[/tag] . We found some gems, argued over our favorites and had a belter of a week on a sick selection of skis. If you're a gear nerd, next winter is shaping up to be a goodun!
As has become traditional by this point, the week kicked off with a dump of fresh snow, meaning good conditions for testing the plethora of wider skis we’d been sent, and some great turns in the opening days. Of course, we could have wished for more snow to keep getting pow turns all week, but given the season that bit of the Rockies has been having, we definitely felt lucky to get what we did.

After a couple of days spent mostly in Delerium Dive and Garbage Chutes, sending drops and clipping rocks, the rest of the week was focused on the narrower skis, with our crew of rippers smashing them on metal and sending jumps in search of the best of the best to add to your quiver next season.
Thankfully, Sunshine has a multitude of parks at all times, and the crew split its time between hot laps of the Strawberry Lift, enjoying the leftover setup from the PBR Sessions and laps of Divide and Springhill Parks. The brand new Newschoolers S-Rail in Strawberry got a lot of love in particular but it’s safe to say these skis hit every feature Sunshine Village had to offer.
At this point, it would be remiss not to mention our squad: Tom ( [tag=114880]@Horsefacekillah[/tag] ), Lisa, Jemma, Abbie, Em ( [tag=278523]@emluuxas[/tag] ), Alex, Billie, Eryka, Hailey, Evan, Bailey, Brock ( [tag=264979]@Brockmarzolf[/tag] ), Mark ( [tag=229557]@markvaltr[/tag] ), Jordan, and A-Wall and of course, Aaron and Ty behind (and sometimes in front of) the lens, you guys make this test what it is. By the end of the trip, we had resorted to calling the test ‘summer camp’, where distant friends reunite as a crew for just one week.

Of course, it is a ski test and there is work to be done, but it’s also the best week of the year.
