jesus, that is a very critical artery. that provides to blood to the brain I beleive... and if that was ruptured it would have caused blood to leak into her cranium and thats the hemorrhaging... scary stuff. And im aware that this is a captain obvious post and it says it right there, I was just rationalizing for myself.
