Labouring under the effects of a nightmarish flight coupled with a few nights in Banff's smelliest, most cramped hostel, I arrived at Strawberry park bearing the constitution of a sickly Victorian child. There was little to do but lend a feeble hand digging, hold a GoPro and observe the proceedings.

PBR returned for its eighth iteration this year, its architect and mastermind Curt Hiller once again at the helm. Invited athletes offered their ideas for features to be built, based on specific tricks they'd like to land. The volunteer diggers had a further say in how the park would look, and a flowy, feature packed park full of diverse features took shape. The 'Bucking Bronco' rail and the pole jam-gap- to flat down box competed for most terrifying feature to hit.

With the talents of Cole Isfan, Ian Hamilton, Nicholas Suchy, Elena Paskevich, Emily Lucas and our illustrious host Curt swinging through the park, it didn't take long for some mind bending rail skiing to take shape. The action reached a fever pitch with Ian's 720 Sw'up and Curt's enormous take on the only trick, Lip 450 critical- blind 2 while Suchy and B-Frank lit up the park with flowy lines at blistering speeds. Cole and Evan wow'd everyone with big technical tricks.

The east coast was represented in the event by a gang of ruffians from P.E.I. along with the smooth quebecois stylings of B-Frank and John Munger, who backie'd up from the pole jam to down.

The party was held Saturday night at the Drake hotel in Canmore. What started as a pleasant meal among friends old and new, rapidly devolved into the bar scene from Gremlins. With a day of skiing to go, few held back.
