Nestled just south of the majestic Grand Teton National Park, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort hosts some of the gnarliest skiing in the continental 48. (Maybe I'm biased after calling JHMR home for the 15/16 season, but almost anyone else who has skied the mountain would agree).

Despite a brief stint of about a year living there, I had my first experience of flying into the Jackson Hole Airport, and I have to say, The Tetons are that much more incredible from the air. I was lucky enough to fly into blue skies and my best friend waiting for me on the ground- but they didn't last too long (the blue skies).

Although the resort had to postpone their opening this year, #DEEPEMBER went off with a bang and we were sitting on an all-time snowpack come January (#Janubury?). Of my two week stay, our first week was skiing well, 3" one day, another 3" the next- keeping everything fresh but no snorkel action just yet. However, come Sunday Snowmageddon kicked in, and all my plans to head north and ski a few days in Montana were immediately canceled. 4 feet of snow in 4 days- including the first time extreme avalanche danger had hit Teton County in years- and face shots all day at Jackson Hole.
