Where to start...
Next Generation Poet was formed in the summer of 2007.
With simple beats and a joking personality, I rapped at the lunch table with simple beatboxing and freestyling old school style. Eventually this practice led to the discovery of some lyric writing abilities.
After about a half year of practice, I recorded my first song with the help of a $10 microphone and an illegal copy Sony ACID pro. The single was named "Touchdown" and has since been re-recorded and edited.
Now, almost 17, NGP is ready to hit the public scene. Over ten tracks have been created and posted to the internet, which paid off. I've done a show, and I got hooked up with a signed artist (Terminal Illness). I'm working on a professional track with him that will appear on his next album/mixtape.
I also got in on a deal that includes recording sessions in a studio in Seattle. I'm still working on the details, but I'm 99% sure that my self-titled LP will be dropping in August 2008.
Here is the sketch of the album cover:

If you'd like to check out some of the songs recorded with my $10 mic, then check out:

or

Check it out, give me props or suggestions, and spread the word. I'm stoked on this, I want to expand into some acoustic and reggae-type stuff later on. More songs will come soon, and I should have everything ready to record by summer.
Keep it real,
Matt F.
