The ladies of Lady Gabber got together to ask Maude Raymond some questions!
What was the vibe like skiing at nine queens? -immas
Where I hope to be ? That's a really tough Question to answer...
But I am hoping that women's freeskiing will continue progressing
in a positive and strong way. I also hope that there will more more
girls practicing, persevering in our sport and helping each other to evolve.
I also hope that with all the new contests and the new politics that comes
with it, we won't lose the roots of what our sport is, especially the creation
part.
What would you consider the biggest influence to your style? -ERICA.MN
I personally think that style is unique to each person.
I think that it's simply the way you move and see things in life.
I could maybe say that it's my dad and my brother that did influence me
the most with style since my dad taught me everything about sports and
he is really good at it. I also grew up with my brother and we would do all
those sports together.
You know... I also think that if you are confortable doing something and you
are authentic to it, it will feel good and it will define you and most likely look
good.
But really what is your biggest goal in skiing? -domeinthebutt
I have daily goals, medium goals and big goals... but what you need to know is that
a goal of mine is to do what I love.
What inspired you to start park skiing? -zoaster
Seeing my brother Frank do it. That's what made me try
How have your knee injuries affected how you ski? Have they changed the way you approach skiing, physically, mentally? How did you get into freestyle? -Katcher
I got into freestyle skiing because my brother was doing it for a few years
already and I finally wen't to visit him in Whistler. I tried it, I loved it.
Well yes... My knee injuries changed a lot. You can kinda compare it to a few
massive heart brake over and over again. You definitely see and feel things differently,
and so everyone else that is close to you.
Let me finish the other questions and I will come back to you on this one later tonight.
It is an important Question for me and I wan't to answer you in details. I also think that
it could help any girl.
How difficult was it to overcome the language barrier when you moved to whistler? -immas
Hahaha it was a little difficult but then again very amusant to me and for my friends.
The hardest part at first was to explain how I felt in a way that made sense. I still have
trouble, especially when I am tired. It's funny.
Pretty certain she is doing something in fashion. I'd like to add to this ^ question and say- How do you hope to incorporate your degree in the industry? Can we expect to see some Maude designed outerwear? I've seen the "Maad" hats and they're pretty sweet, but some badass outerwear would be sick! -NSwidow
Yes, I wan't to get into women's clothing & outerwear. I love it.
Have you considered or been offered to film with Level 1, TGR, etc? -__skiara
I have considered, yes. I always wanted to film for a big movie company. That was
my first goal ever when starting freestyle.
Favorite trick? What trick gave you the most difficulty in learning? -__skiara

It's also good sometimes to focus on your thing and then come back to your men.
