I dragged a friend of mine to watch these movies with me. He's a fellow snowboarder so it took some convincing. We got there somewhat early, but the place was empty. As we waited in the lobby of the University of Montana's own Dennison Theatre, I thought of Missoula and the freeski influence here. Well, really the lack of influence. As opposed to our rivals in Bozeman, where everything is centered around skiing, we really don't have any mountains worth mentioning here. I began to realize it was going to be a small event. One of the best parts of premiere season, is going to huge events where you meet people just as stoked for snow as you are. I thought about past premieres I've attended, such as the Act Natural world premiere in TSP's hometown of Bozeman, or the McConkey premiere in downtown Seattle. I began to feel like this showing would be uneventful.

Before the event, Henrik and Phil sat down and signed posters. We waited in a very short line to meet them. As they signed posters for us, we started to talk with them. I'm not sure why, but I always imagined them to be a sick of kids asking a billion questions this far into the tour. However, both guys were extremely friendly. They talked about their films, skating at our local skate park, Montana, the tour so far and skiing in general. So on the off chance either of you read this, thank you for taking time to talk to all your fans. It really makes the event that much cooler.
I also got a chance to see the The Whipit "INSPIRED" J skis. Online these things look great, but pictures do not do these things justice. The detail in them is incredible. They are perfect. One day when I decided to take up skiing instead of standing sideways and dragging my knuckles, this is what I will buy. Again, I'm sure you won't see this, but bravo JLev, these are perfect. Everyone go buy them here. http://jskis.com/collections/skis/products/inspired
As stoked as I was to see the J skis in person, and to meet to amazing skiers, I was curious where Tanner Hall was. Growing up in his hometown, the man was a legend. Not only to the snow loving community, but to everyone. He grew up in a small town in Montana, skiing the greatest mountain on our dear planet, Whitefish Mountain Resort as it reads on the sign now or Big Mountain to the locals. He showed us all, it really doesn't matter where you begin, it matters where you end up. I'm not sure he realizes how much he inspires (yes I did that on purpose) everyone in Montana to strive for our goals. I figured he was busy doing whatever it is you do as the Ski Boss. I thought he would just come on stage and that would be it. So we went into the beautiful theatre to pick out a seat. It was pretty barren, so really we picked out our own row.
