On the 1st, 2nd en 3rd october it was

finally that time, after a long hot summer the first gletchter areas

are popping in action with the traditional opening days. Since the

popularity of freestyle ski and snowboard has increased enormously the

last years, the official opening of the gletcher is organized around

that aspect.

On the Hintertux gletcher the

Hotzone.tv Park Opening event has taken place for the second year in a

row, it was a 3-day event including a contest in the newly constructed

snowpark, a jam-session on a flat-to-down box combined with awesome

partys in Hohenhaus Tenne.

During the pre-season period, many riders travel to areas like Hintertux

for some training for the upcoming season. There were even some major

names like Jossi Wells, Rus Renshaw, Bobby Brown, Elias Ambuhl and

Oscar Sherlin attending the event. In addition there were also a lot of

boarders shredding the park. This is due to the fact that the

organisation has created this event only for boarders. There were no

prices for skiers and in the official Hotzone.tv edit is no skier to be seen. Another extra motivation for Skisluts.be to attend this great event!

Nicolas Elshout, Belgian champ freestyle ski 2009,

accompanied the Skisluts crew to the gletcher. He made also a very

strong impression and that promises a lot for the contests still yet to

come for him this season!

The level of the skiers was in general impressive this edition. Since

the entry of the double corks previous season, everyone would like to

master them and that was very noticable. We saw many riders attempting

double cork 10, double cork 12, wether or not riding in switch. A
