Remember

the titans, prejudice and violence

Violence can and will affect every

single person. The effects on these people can be physical

harm. They could become injured or it

could even result in death. Also it could be mental harm. A person could had a

violent history and even though physically they are alright or healthy. Mentally they could be a disaster. Violence

can cause all kinds of harm. In the movie remember the titans violence is

shown in many cases. One of them is as soon as the football plays get to their

camp rooms with their camp partners Julius Campbell

and Gerry bertier get into a fight over a poster on the wall. Now they really don’t not like each other. They stay away for quite some time because of

this violent act. Also when the team

gets back into their town Pete gets into a fight at school because he was

talking to a white man’s girlfriend. They start to fight but then a lot of others

fight black verse white until Campbell and bertier break it up. Even

though Gerry is white the other white men dislike him because he stands up for

the blacks this lost him some so called friends.

Prejudice is an opinion against

a certain group of people normally because of their race. When you are prejudice against some one they

will always remember. It will tear them up and it will cause

violence. Even if

the two sides become friends they are always weary of the prejudice that was

once there. When the guys are out on town sunshine wants

to take Pete and a couple others into a bar. When they get in there the owner says it’s

full when clearly it’s not. Pete gets

angry at sunshine and blames him this could be because of the prejudice by

whites to blacks. Also when they are just walking down the

street bertier says they and is talking about his friends that are black but

they were in front of him. Campbell takes it as not they in front of them but

they as in the blacks this is also because whites were prejudice. They will always remember. Even if it becomes less it will always be

in their head the opinions and violence that was committed against them.

To me I think that prejudice

will lead to violence more often than the other way around. You can be violent

but not prejudice. Most people become

violent when they are angry and people are always angry for different reasons

so violence won’t cause you to be prejudice most of the time. But if you are prejudice then you do not

like this group of people. And you are

angry because that group of people did something you do not like so then you

might become violent. In the case at

camp rite away when Campbell and bertier get into a fight it was because

bertier may have been prejudice against Campbell and the poster set him off

making him violent. He wasn’t violent and then became prejudice he was already

prejudice. The same argument is applied when boone has a brick thrown through

his window. They did this because they were prejudice against him not because

they were violent then because prejudice.
