Ya I want to upgrade my 1 for 3+ now just to get wide angle 1080p. Hopefully the price goes down on them with this. Does anyone even use 4k? I know it's where we're going to go but right now seems a little pointless when 90% of TVs/Monitors aren't 4k yet.
^I work as an editor and I absolutely love when I get footage that was shot in 4K. It gives you so many options in post when you're doing graphics and reframing work. I recently edited a project that had ariel footage shot in 2.7k. I was able to do digital rotations when the camera was pointed straight down, add a little bit of digital stabilization, and do reframing. 4K would have given me even more room to do these things and still deliver a high quality 1080p product. You're right, there's currently very few 4k viewing opportunities, but it is extremely useful to edit with it and then export in 1080
