i don't want to hate, but if you live in Montana/Wyoming and ski groomers, there may be some bigger issues to deal with that I fear a park won't solve. And how many ski resorts these days don't have a park? Are you guys talking about working with the ski resort to make their park better? Just confused by the whole thing, that's all.

^ well you did hate a little bit but I'll blame that issue on you reading too much into that one caption. ;-)

Just fill out the survey and help a brother out!

We're talking about improving the park, which we can't do without the ski area's complete cooperation (obviously). An improved terrain park not only caters to those who choose to ride it, but also to those who don't. Every mountain, whether it be in BC, Montana, Colorado, Utah, or New Jersey has its down days--where ungroomed terrain isn't fun for anybody, no matter who you are.

Also, more people in the park means less traffic on the upper mountain, creating more fresh lines for those who choose to seek them.

ah yes. I feel for this because my hill (Red Mountain, BC) is full of lies and deception when it comes to their park. They market it as something it's not, and yet they don't put any effort into trying to fix the problems... in fact, I'm now certain that management would get rid of the park if they felt they could get away with it.

Now there's a mission for you. How do you get a ski resort to improve something they want to get rid of.

Hey Daryl

Our little po-dunk hills will have a thousand, thats right one thousand park rats come out for 150 feet of verticle on one trail 300 ft wide, littered with a dozen jibs for $20 a pop in pre-season and post season. When management sees that kind of density, dollar signs flash in their eyes.

One particular old school type of resort has slowly been changing as the result of pre and post season attendance and so has the sentiment on the local message boards. Kids drive where their parents spend their money...

um... we live in a town with a population of less than 4000 people. getting 1000 park rats during peak season is impossible. hell, we barely have line ups on the holidays at the hill... and that's on slow lifts, if we had high speed quads, line ups would never exist here... ever. oh yea, and right now in our park we have two small jumps, two (even smaller) spines, a garbage bin, and 10 rails, but only 4 that are worth hitting... no snow making, with no desire to think about getting snow making... a massive wall ride that is made out of wood, south facing (so it's almost always dry, and dry wood doesn't slide), it's in the middle of the park on flats so it destroys any flow you thought you had, and when talking about taking the wall out, the response is always "that will never happen", "that's impossible", etc...
