Halfpipe Skiing Approved For 2014 Winter Olympics

Being against pipe in the olympics is so 2007.

Sure there are some negatives, but I think this is the right time for this to happen, and overall is a GREAT thing for skiing. Fuck yeah this was a nice thing to see this morning.

Remember that this side of the sport was started by "freestyle" mogul athletes that were incredibly fed up with the way fIS and IOC were running their sport.

We created this sport and made it internationally marketable without the help of the IOC! Make sure they do not ruin it. Take a cue from snowboarding - especially Terje. He gave up a chance at huge financial gains for a love of the sport when he boycotted the games, and he's still fighting to keep the athletes as partners in the future of the sport.

Who will step up and be the ambassador for skiing? Please keep the passion and creativity alive and don't allow the IOC to completely take over. They need us more then we need them!
