I do know if it’s just me but I try to appreciate all types of sports. Someone has spent a good deal of their life designing these things and putting their heart into it and someone is buying it so I respect that

But every time I go out of my way to talk to a snow skater I regret it because they always end up being weirdos. I feel like that’s the clientele that snow skating attracts as it often times is people specifically trying to be different.

I dont know about you guys but I had so much fun screwing around with Snow Skates growing up. We just had the cheap ones you get at Walmart but its what we did for hours after night skiing. We even towed each other behind out car in the lower lots. One time we took them into the halfpiple when the resort closed and would drop in the lip which was scary AF. In a way, snowskating is just as much of the skiing experience as anything else.

Lol snowskaters are certainly a little different! The scene is super wacky and competitive and entertaining cuz of it. Also, it's hilarious that you're based out of Summit County and talking about weird encounters, cuz it's home to some of the biggest names and craziest personalities in the snowskate game.

Interesting info...I know absow nothing about these and was curious about the footsearw. Some resorts dont allow them to use the lift though.

Thanks for the kind words and recollection! Ya know something SuspiciousFish, I feel like the state of snowskating totally embodies the culture here on Newschoolers. We forgo the "Mr. Marketable Guy humbly doing extraordinary things narrative" in favor of weird uncensored shit-slinging insanity. Our judging booths arent filled by FIS objective standard criteria, but by a panel of style gods who crown the boldest ideas. We are a similar breed of steeze dorks, so why not host a few snowskate articles here?

Harfang Snowskates has a map on their website of which resorts allow snowskates.

Where there is density of green flags, cool little niches and crews and condition-specific gear mushrooms up.

Sure there's a learning curve (just like skiing and snowboarding), but then, we're just as in control as anyone else.

Hopefully the red flags come around and realize this.

@partandBS dude same. Just recently tried to chat a dude up and he was just so fuckin awkward. It was kinda like dude had something to prove idk. Weird insecure snowskater vibes for sure lmao
