To be honest, I did not even know WME is still around. If I want big mountain stuff, I just go over to TGR or MSP. WME has made the last wrong move and I can not forsee them to last any long. I am fairly certain a lot of their sponsors will stop, just to get away from their brand. I am quite sure most if not ALL manufactures are going after the younger crowd. Like M.J said, children are our future. If you don't get their business now, might as well quite and open up a sushi bar.
ya WME is old and they are a bunch of hippies that use other ppls shitty shots and footy in the past so fuck off and GO BUY REFRESH and everything else Level 1 has
My name is Sam Duke, I have been skiing for 14 years and my passion for the sport shines brighter than anything else in my life. I have thouroughly enjoyed watching many Warren Miller movies in the past as well as been to premiers and encouraged my friends and family to do the same.
Unfortunately I am not writing this letter to praise your film company. I am writing this letter to let you know, from the ski (and snowboard) communities perspective. that by suing Level 1 productions you are effectively digging your own grave. The movie Refresh, in all honesty, could have been your only chance to bridge the generation gap in skiing and keep your company alive for a long time to come. As one culture gives way to another, the culture being forced to give way (WME, old school film companies) will often try to strike down their competitors while gasping for air, slowly drowning in the sea of independent production companies. Level 1 gave you a chance to embrace a new generation of fans and instead you have pushed them away. Whether this lawsuit fails or not, your fan base will slowly start to die and your company will begin fading away with them.
Pretty grim story, isn't it? I just though I'd let you know, from a fan's perspective, where this frivolous lawsuit will end.
