First off thanks to JD for pointing me at this. Its super imformative and I think if you haven't seen this yet you need to. Check out the trailer first:

If you think you have the patience to watch the full hour and 1/2 documentary (which I recommend), then fire away below!

electric cars will soon be allowed in my city. The canadian government said it is up to the municipalities to decide whether or not to allow electric cars usuage. In mid july it is being brought to council and is looking promising.

like the guy above says. We have the technology to create electric motors and such, there just isn't a way of storing the electricity within the car for long periods of time yet. The car company lotus has produced an electric car that can reach up to 120 MPH and go from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. But, i think that rich oil barons are the ones responsible for the 'death' of the electric car.

neon - You should watch the movie. The batteries in the first ones weren't amazing, but there was an inventor that solved the problem. However the companies sabotaged it by not allowing the good batteries in the cars thereby giving them range problems.

That guy went on to produce the modern laptop battery.

If you watch the documentary neon it explains how the proper batteries did exist but how a certian oil company bought up the patent just to sit on it so no one could use it.

Ryno - You got it right... haven't watch WKTEC in about a year... but man all of you really should.

Our world and ESPECIALLY our sport is getting FUCKED by vehicles.

Really none of us actually need to be driving gas powered vehicles, "they" have just made us think we do.

im on dial up right now so i cant watch it but i have seen the movie who killed the electric car. wasnt is big oil who bought out the companies, then destroyed all the remaining cars? everyone is just brainwashed that we NEED gas. its sad how much the government can control what everybody thinks but then again the media is always right. media definitely is not regulated by the government, not at all

"We can no longer rely on oil to provide the bulk of our transportation fuel. It's just that simple and that obvious," Jon Lauckner, head of global vehicle development for General Motors, said during the opening of the Plug-In 2008 conference in San Jose. "We believe the ultimate solution involves the electrification of the automobile as soon as possible. The discussion has shifted from if this happens to when this happens."

How fucking ironic is that statement eh?

I saw this movie when it first came out. I was pissed by the end. I also laughed a lil because its almost too rediculous that there was an electric car, but then bam they destroy them all.
