I will probably just get the 200 gopro if I feel like getting one. I have gone through tons of go pros for surfing/skim boarding and lost all 5 of them. They are fine, but then again like PULL brought up, the sensor is not that great for bluebird days for skiing due to the sun reflection. The hero 3 white will do fine for someone who wants to film 720p 60fps which is more than enough. It's not like any of us are pros, otherwise you wouldn't bother with a gopro, you will actually have higher level cameras filming. Still pretty sick that the hero 3 is smaller and has a price at 200 for 1080p (30fps) and 720p at 60fps.

Its funny how much people forget that the GoPro was designed as, and still is primarily supposed to be a wearable camera. It is not meant as your only camera for filming complete movies. You don't want to rip an AK line or kayak with a t2i tied to your head, as much as you aren't intended to be getting cinema quality shots with a GoPro on a stick.

It does what it does incredibly well. Though it's really apples and oranges to something like the t2i

That shot with the whales was so sick, it's crazy that helmet cams these days take footy that is somewhat comparable to what prosumer cameras are producing. Especially since most people just watch most stuff on youtube and vimeo these days. Mind = Blown

4k rez sounds sick but its just not worth it at 15 fps.. i have the hero2 at 720/60 it works great for b roll footy. like many others said though, the real shots come from a dslr or similar (i have the t3i)

gopro is supposed to be supplementary, not primary

I wish that they made the silver and white editions shoot 720p at 120fps... they really haven't changed much spec wise which is disappointing, because even my HERO shoots 720p at 60fps.

the 4k is a joke and not really useful other than for time lapses maybe. i'm really stoked on the new lens options and the 1080p at 60fps and the 720p at 60fps. for $400 its really worth it to me. that video quality was amazing especially on that cable cam of the mountain biking
