I guess the REAL ? here is......IS Abma really offsetting any worthwhile amount of waste in these elaborate designs and machine conversions? Does is add up or is it all another way to make someone somehow feel better.

Not just feeling better but increasing consciousness for the cause itself. It may be a waste of time for YOU to do it, but when he does it people actually care; (well, not LIL_WAT) and perhaps his initiative will cause someone to take it upon themselves to be more conscious of the impact their actions are having on the environment. He's using his pull as a skier to do something constructive. Plus, if he's not offsetting a significant amount of waste who gives a shit, it's better than nothing. You're taking the same attitude as the people that don't recycle because "what difference does one person not recycling really make?" Abma recognizes an issue and is taking action to correct it, and also making people aware of his actions. If you have a better suggestion email him. Good job Abma, you slay it.
