sounds like a real sick idea, but i hate to say it, at 2k, I dont think many people will want to do it.

you would be really surprised J_Gasper...lot's of rich kids out there. This is a sick idea, the ski world has too many good skiers and and too little GOOD filmers

HA HA! i would love to do that, but I mean DAMN, people are basically paying them $2000 to give them free video and photo content that will cover the web all summer long and make all their lil friends wanna go to summer ski camp too...

2k is just ridiculous, you'd be better off to get private lessons with a pro sports photographer or spend the money on gear.

On another note, I emailed COC asking about interning for photo and they said that they'd consider taking me if I payed for my own flights, living, food, lift tickets, and COC pass, LOLOLOLOLOL.

We just wanted to clarify why the camp costs what it does.

First off, it's a 9 day all-inclusive camp similar to the ski camp with all the benefits; staying in a luxury Hotel in the middle of Whistler, all restaurant meals, optional free activities (like wakeboarding, paintball, mountain biking, etc ) all lift tickets, etc. You can also opt for the cheaper 'Instruction Only camp' if you don't need the full deal for $1395. Not only will you get instruction from the best pros in their field, you also get the world's best skiers as your personal models, including Wallisch, Schlopy, Woodsy sessioning in customized shoots, as well as at Momentum's amazing night shoot.

Think of it as an investment in your future...If you're looking to start a film/photo career in the action sports industry, this is your fast-track ticket. Not only to learn the skills, but also to display your talent to industry leaders. This is your chance to gain exposure and create key connections - you never know what doors may open up for you!

Wait a second, you want kids to pay $2000 to not ski and take pictures/videos of people at your camp so that you can use such pictures and videos to promote your camp?? You're essentially asking kids to pay you to do your PR work? Is it just me or is this the most ludacris/shady thing I've ever heard of?

I gotta chime in here and point out that your conspiracy theory doesn't hold much water, because Momentum already employs a couple of staff videographers and photographers who's videos and photos they use in their promotion of camp (along with the ones I and other media outlets take and hook them up with), where as the videos and photos that will be taken by Exposure campers will belong to them and will be for their use to utilize as they see fit.

Speaking as someone who deals with videographers and photographers on a daily basis, I can't stress enough how cool of an opportunity this is. Yes, it costs $2,000 to go, but in addition to all the fun you'll have shooting (and skiing!) in Whistler in the summer along with the fact that Blake (who is without question one of the best and most successful photographers in skiing), Johnny (who kick started this sport) and Darren (who's films are some of the most enjoyable and creative of the bunch) will be there offering invaluable knowledge and guidance, the connections up-and-coming videographers and photographers will make (with athletes, media sources and other filmers and photogs) just by being at Exposure will be huge.

Props to Momentum for putting together a program for people who want to learn something other than tricks. I'm really looking forward to it.
