@fuzzball You may be uninformed about the relevance of the AFP World Ranking. AFP rankings are used to determine invitations to X Games and many other top-level events, as well as being used to name national teams- most notably USA, Canada and France. Many of the top brands use the rankings when considering sponsorships and even have AFP World Ranking incentives in their athlete contracts.
The AFP is proud to provide these valuable resources to the freeskiing world. The AFP World Ranking is the only one if it's kind, a true universal freeskiing ranking. Being a growing organization, these very reasonable membership fees will allow us to continue the work we do for our sport.
If anyone is complaining, they need to wake up. Just to WORK for a few organizations in the industry, I have to pay an ANNUAL DUE of close to $100 and I work for a few organizations that charge that EVERY YEAR. $35 is nothing and you will be supporting the best organization in skiing, the organization making sure FIS doesn't turn SS and HP into what Moguls and Aerials turned into. If you think you have a genius idea and you could run things better, go enroll in college, get a B.S. in Accounting or Economics and maybe when you're half way through your M.B.A. you'll realize that $35 was a CHEAP and GREAT way to support your local industry. Give something back to skiing before you start expecting free handouts, this industry might not have to rely on gapers to support it if you did...
