this is kind of bullshit. someone like me would KILL to spend anytime in whistler let alone coc. im sorry i don't have the money to have already gone and filmed there. you should make this open to anyone, regardless of whether they have gone to whistler. you would have so many opportunities for awesome filmers to enter. pretty bad in my opinion. my 2cents

wow so this gives the kids who already can afford to go to camp the chance to go to camp for free....

THE CONTEST IS OPEN TO ANYONE. SIMPLY DOWNLOAD OUR FOOTAGE AND EDIT UP AN ENTRY.

WE OPENED IT UP TO EVERYONE THREE WEEKS AGO AFTER SO MANY CAMPERS TOLD US THEY WERE TOO BUSY GETTING THEIR SHRED ON TO FILM. SO WE CHANGED THE CONTEST LAST MONTH TO BE OPEN TO EVERYONE. THEN WE POSTED IT ON NEWSCHOOLERS THE OTHER DAY SO PEOPLE LIKE SHASTAFARIAN, KILLASTEEZE,SLO AND MKVACKAY COULD ENTER. SORRY IF YOU GUYS MISSED THE FACT THAT IT WAS OPEN TO ANYONE.

I DO CONTESTS LIKE THIS SO THAT PEOPLE THAT MIGHT NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO COME TO CAMP HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO WIN A SESSION.

I EDITED THE TYPE A BIT TO MAKE THE "ANYONE CAN ENTER" CLEARER SINCE APPARENTLY IT WASN'T CLEAR ENOUGH BEFORE.

youre using the first place prize video as a commercial?

I have no idea what we will use them for. We just thought it would be a fun contest to do in the fall when everyone was jonesing to got ski. We had a mountain of sick footy and this was what we came up with. We will probably just post them onto facebook and here.

Make an epic video. That's why we made it a combination of likes and the ones we like the best. We wanted everyone to have a chance to win, not just "the popular guys".

i sent you a message ken, but if i want to enter, i am just supposed take your footage from this summer and re edit it? i really don't see a point of me taking time to edit someone elses videos.

I think this contest is really cool and a great way to find an intern. I'm stoked to put something together. However, it seems really silly to choose the winner based on internet popularity. If you want a quality intern and rightful winner than the contest should be decided on a board from CoC to determine who's video has the most merit. Rather than deciding that based on how many friends someone has who will "like" their video. Seems that a contest like this deserves better judges than facebook and overall popularity.

Props to CoC for personally messaging me (and other members), and saying it's open to everyone.

well this sucks, if this was a real film contest it shouldn't be based only at COC

filmers should have the chance to film their home mountain and that way show what they're made of without spending an insane amount of money to travel to COC ( i live in europe ^^)

all im saying is if its a film contest who gives where its filmed, COC should take the best guy regardless of where it is filmed, if he's good enough to film at his home mountain, he will be good enough at COC

Read camp of champs comment, its open to everyone just download the raw video from their vimeo account.

Also COC I was wondering if you could host the video on another site. Having it come off of the vimeo account causes a huge problem because you are only allowed to download 5 videos a day. For someone like me who likes to use all the possible clips in the video this presents a huge challenge since it will take me 11 days simply to download all the footage, then extra time to pick the shots I want to use and the actually edit the shots.

This is a huge disadvantage for the people who submit their videos later on in the contest since there will be considerably less time that they are exposed to the on the web for likes and such.

Besides this I think the contest is an awesome idea and am pretty stoked on entering it.
