i've been a fully dedicated skier for the past 8 years or so (skier for 20), and i've really never questioned my decision in life to be a ski bum. for me, I don't really ask the question: what it is a love about skiing, because well - SKIING IS THE FUNNEST THING IN THE WORLD!

Although I haven't been skiing that long; it has become a part of my life, like nothing else before it, so many doors have opened, so many great memories, so much yet to do! I just love the sport as a whole, the feeling you get when you're just chilling with other guys, sharing stories and memories, no other sport has such a great communal feeling, and although some people moan about how terrible stuff is, when the chips are down, there is nothing any of us would rather be doing...

Bottom line, the thing I love about skiing is the way it allows you to detach from all the things in your life that might be stressing you out or causing any sort of anxiety. From the first second you step into your bindings on a good day, it seems like all of your troubles couldn't be further away. I've never been very good at buddhist meditation, but I think skiing is a perfectly decent substitute. It helps me clear my mind and find peace.

Oh yeah, and skiing trees on a powder day is an indescribable rush. Your non-skier friends will never understand this sort of feeling. That's the other reason I love skiing. When I have a particularly satisfying day of shredding, it gets me higher than any drug ever could, and I feel incredibly euphoric. It's as close as I could imagine coming to proving the existence of a benevolent, fun-loving god.

i used to love the freedom aspect of sking but now that i lost my seasons pass that is gone and all that is left is the loveing and chillen part of it. love and skiing go hand and hand for me too as i love skiing and skiing loves me too. the other thing i love about it is that it is what you make it. other team sports you have rules. the only rules for skiing are that you shouldn't go off the path as i learned the hard way and that you have to have fun. there is no limid to how good you can get

I love skiing because it keeps me from being a fatass in the winter. And because of the "freedom, expression, being one with mother nature" too.

Skiing is the freedom of not having to wory about anything else. Just up there in the moment, narin the pow lines deep in the mountians with out a care in the world. All the goggle tans and a face full of snow after a huge pow run is unspeakable. Standing on top of a mountain you just hiked knowing that its you and nature and nothing else is the MOMENT. IF SKIING WAS MY DEATH I WOULD BE THE HAPPIEST PERSON ALIVE. Its who you are. its the escape from school and when your skiing its the clearest my mind, body, and soul is ever going to be.

Its unbelievable

To me skiing is just love. All it is expression and smiles. A day of skiing is the best day of my life. It doesn't matter what happened all week or the day before but if Im skiing Im happy. Skiing offers a way for many people to reflect and love and express. In my skiing I love to open new doors and push myself, it helps me feel stoked on everything. I love the limitlessness of a snowy city when everything urban is a dream. I love going to the park and slaying rails and jumps and going real big, getting real tech. Most of all I love the limitless of the BC. You can get so creative in the BC, pillows, booters, cliffs, mini golf its the best. Thank god for skiing.

ALSO skiing doesn't have to be about impressing others and showing people up. Its all about personal satisfaction, and feeling good about yourself and giving others inspiration to do the same. That is love.
