Distinguishable, a word that describes the duo of Phil Casabon and Henrik Harlaut to a tee. Looking back at their own respective pasts it isn't hard to see that this has been a timeless trait for both skiers. For us their dedication to being unique has produced a plethora of some of the most stylish and savory skiing that the sport has ever seen; and there is something to be learned from this.
AR TRIP KOREA
As a skier I pale in comparison to the likes of B&E so I don't have much to offer in the form of individualized riding. However B&E has inspired me to take a creative commitment and apply it to other relevant interests. Ski gear is a big passion of mine, stepping back to look at it on a grand scale revealed a realm that was plentiful with room for original ideas. With this mentality I looked at one of the most basic pieces of gear to improve upon, the ski pole, and bring something to it that was fresher than the crack of a coke can.
My current set of ski poles have seen their fair share of crashes, this has left them looking more akin to a tree branch, and not so pole like. I could easily remedy this by replacing them with some composite ski poles, but those cost an arm and a leg, and doing so would be going completely backwards in respect to my intent. Looking around the house I had come up with the idea to use some grey PVC conduit as a pole shaft. It was cheap, flexible, and looked to be of the right diameter for a ski pole, it was perfect. This was the result:

They looked great, but the bolts that were serving as tips made them massively heavy, I my as well have been skiing with some shake weights in each hand. It was a goofy idea that turned out to be a complete failure, and based on this everyone seemed to be set on the idea of PVC conduit poles never working out. Henrik has been called out by a few in the community for being an absolute goofball, and a poor representation of the sport. Again though, he is
phil and henny are mad inspiring with their unique style and no fear to be different
-henny kills it with wacky style at the olympics
-phil continues slaying parks
this only somewhat carries through into my skiing
-inspiration really held over to product design
-namely many attemps at trying crazy poles
take this wherever you go, skiing or life
