I have a Don Joy. I love it, good mobility and super light. A lot of college football teams use them. Insurance companies (especially Kaiser) are rather particular when it comes to coverage for braces. I got mine covered through a mistake in paperwork.

Put your them on the ickup. If its too low, you can raise it up but it will mess with your tone a bit. Vintage Fender basses all have thumb rest on them. Look on ebay for them, they mount with 2 screws on or above the pickguard.

I had the hamstring graft done too...I was out for around a year. The docs had me do Phys. Therapy for six months, then surgery, then six more months Phys. Therapy. I also tore my MCL and LCL, but those weren't worked on. The docs said they would heal themselves, however, they still give out...

Be happy about the 3 week wait for surgery...I had to wait 6 months just to have surgery, and 6 months of therapy after that. Also, the patella graft takes longer to heal, get the hamstring, less pain and easier recovery.

20x cooler than any of the other men's rossi graphics this year. The scratch graphics from like 3 years ago were the best of the line (Babby Blue and Brown).
