Trying to decide between these two right now. Is the electronic gimbal worth it? or should I just go with the Glidecam? Thoughts on either?

Just before Christmas I bought a pair of Armada Ordinary pants, they have recently been cut by my ski edge. It has cut straight through to the second layer. Wondering if anyone else has had the same problem?
