So I'm heading to NZ for 7 days after my semester in Sydney ends (June 20th) and I'm looking to get some advice on skiing in NZ...anyone have any input on what mountains/areas are best and what some affordable accommodation is? I'll also need to rent boots/skis but I don't want the shitty ones...

I'm probably interning with the DOT this summer and they require steel toe boots. Never owned a pair before so I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions. They reimburse up to $100 so +k for suggestions in that price range.

NS...my brother is running the Carlsbad half marathon (Carlsbad is in Cali). In order to run he fronted $500 as a donation to the American Liver Foundation. He's since been raising funds to help cover the $500. I know NS is not the most likely place to get donations since we are mostly broke...

In the last 50 minutes we at SU have received 3 inches of snow...this may not impress those from the west but this is the fastest I have ever seen snow accumulate and I am fucking stoked.
