I would meet scott schmidt, him and Glen Plake are the only reason why skiing didn't die in the '80's I have seen glen plake many of times but they are legends. for me I wait for people like that to introduce themselves to you because I don't want to waste there time if they don't want to talk...
I think a D-spin 7 is the easiest trick. I can't straight air big jumps I need to go inverted sounds crazy but I've talked to others who are deathly affraid of straight airs.
I bought my dynastar concepts for $300 they were the first new pair of skis I ever bought then I bought a pass to Mt. Rose then got sponsored by Kirkwood mountain. before that I poached ski mountains and clipped tickets.
Those are really good pictures of the jumps they give you a really good perspective on how big they really were. Did you by chance get a picture of the powder kicker?
Glen plake is my hero he is the only reason why the '80's didn't kill skiing. I seen him a couple of times at big comps but I never actually introduced myself. He's one of those guys that you wait for them to talk to you because they are such a big name if you know what I mean.
Ya the superpark this year was my first time it was pretty narly. You had to be tucking to hit every kicker except the stepdown. The key to the step down was knowing exactly what speed to hit it at and only Rory will seemed to have that knowledge.
Guys the reason why everone was hurting themselves in the step down was because it was an extremely difficult jump to judge. the kicker itself was about 30 feet tall followed by a appoximately 60 gap and the transition was about 15 to 20 feet long. to too slow or too fast and you were...
Ever here of sean sullivan he is one of the best underatted tahoe freeskiers he was pulling switch misty's in 1998 when the K2 poachers were the only twin tip skis out. He's in High society at the very end pulling a huge 900 over the 110ft gap at mammoth mountain.
Co-flow put it exactly right you need to win comps your age is your best factor right now get you name out send in a video of yourself doing your best stuff.
The comp got canceled today because of the weather which wasn't that bad. The next qualifier is going to be at squaw on I think April 20th. Next week there is a comp at kirkwood slopestyle and big air.
