were they on different comps? cause you can change the settings from "auto-sync" to "collect" or somethign where you can just add from any comp.

you can put imported, bought, stolen, whatever songs on your iPod. i downloaded 200 songs on limewire before i switched to the iTunes music store and all my songs work. if it plays in iTunes, it will play on iPod.

quicktime pro (File: Export to iPod) can do it and the new iMovie too.

i dunno about direct conversion to mp4 but handbrake can convert DVDs to avi, mp4 with mpeg4 or H.264 vid and AAC or MP3 audio. you could maybe burn a DVD first.
