The background is just a big piece of black cardboard.
I fooked up on this shot, I decided not to use my reflector on the opposite side of the light, so the colour version of this shot there is a noticeable blue hue on the left side of the image where the light where it's in shadow.
I'll have to re-shoot it if I want it in colour, it looks much better in colour as well.
i like the sepia/b&w tone too.textures and that little grain are nice..so, what can i say: very nice and a bit different still-life shot.i like it steve
