Go into it with a positive attitude but be mentally prepared for a serious low point in your life, ACL surgery has a long and gnarly road to recovery but if you apply yourself to your rehab and do what the doctors and PT guys tell you it should heal up well. Most important thing is get your full extension back as fast as possible and make sure to keep working on extension even after you got it back because it's easy to lose ... I'm 3month post op. Definitely listen to your pt and your body. Best advice I got is its ok to slack slightly at times with the pt, just don't fuck it up.. heal up brother
I'm 4 months out from meniscus repair and acl reconstruction, its a pretty slow process but once you can start doing wall sits/ elliptical and bosu ball stuff it goes a lot faster. Just use skiing as your motivation to get back
