Better Tyvek the whole thing seeing as you used normal wood.<br>
Whenever building something outside, use pressure-treated wood. It might not look as "pretty" as a normal 2x4, but it protects it from termites and other insects, along with fungal decay. The normal wood that you used will begin to warp faster and rot faster than pressure-treated.
I know. But it is substantially cheeper, and it helps a bit to stain it or paint it. How the wood looks was not a deciding factor in when we bought the materials. Actually, we have a cabin on the Shu Shwap that has non treated wood for it's deck, and it has lasted great for the last 10 years. I'm pretty sure if the wood there is lasting fine, it will also do fine in this situation.
