^took a picture of a gas mask i have, deleted the background, traced the light lines with white, filled with black and layered it over with a lesser opacity so it looked spray paint, then added a little bit of a backshadow to spread the edges

you need to make a displacement map out of the metal surface it is on, and then use the displacement filter on the gas mask so it looks like it moves with the shape of the metal, then it would look even sicker.
