He was hitting a ten foot jump. How could he not notice the ski sitting on the knuckle as well as the kids head as he hiked up to get it? You have to be pretty oblivious to not notice that, especially on a feature that small. If it was a 50 foot jump where it was difficult to see that far ahead, I'd understand.

Just sayin, if he saw the ski or the skier, (which it's safe to say he did) he should have not hit the jump.
